Life as a Maverick

Daily P.E., a wide variety of specials and fine arts classes, exhibition nights, the house system for middle schoolers, and much more!

Life as a Maverick is fun, engaging, rigorous, and challenging.  Surrounded by teachers who care and an environment focused on collaboration, students find that the expectations are high, but they are equipped to meet them.

Daily P.E.

All students (K-8) attend daily P.E. classes for 30 minutes.

We believe that this time of activity is beneficial for helping students to focus throughout the day and builds healthy lifestyle habits for the future.
Student Health
The Georgia Department of Public Health has asked that we share the  Scoliosis Screening Parent Letter and Form 4400 with all of our families. This screening is required for 6th and 8th graders.

Specials and Fine Arts

Lower school students (K-5) attend a different specials class each week.  Those courses are Spanish, Art, Music, Computer, and STEAM.

Middle school students (6-8) can choose two elective courses to take each school year.  Elective options are Spanish, Chorus, Instrumentals, Visual Art, Digital Media, and STEAM.

Middle School

Our middle schoolers participate in the house system. Houses allow our students to create bonds with one another to provide a feeling of family support amongst their peers and teachers. House meetings focus on social skills and building character while working with others.  We see our students embrace the importance of team building and stepping up as leaders in various capacities.

Our houses are focused on our four cardinal virtues: Temperance, Justice, Prudence, and Fortitude.

Extracurriculars

Students have the option to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities.
Stay tuned for information on 24-25 After School Clubs that will be offered.

Water Safety
House Bill 402 requires Georgia school districts to provide water safety education information annually to parents and guardians of students under 18 years of age and directly to students who are 18 years of age or older.

Please take a moment to review the water safety information and courses below.
